Powerful Sri Pachiamman Temple In Tirumullaivoyal Chennai Tamil Nadu

Introduction

Sri Pachiamman Temple in south Thirumulaivoyal is a very powerful ancient temple
that is dedicated to Goddess Shakti as Pachaiamman. 
The temple is older than 2000 years, However the temple was built and modified a century back.
And the temple was renovated recently and the kumbhabisheka was held on January 2018.
it is said that the fame of the temple increased and reached all over Tamilnadu after the visit of Sri Ramana Marharshi. He visited this place to seek the blessings of the goddess and to take bath in the tanks around this temple since it had medicinal properties. 

Many of the rishis and saints visit this place to do penance and attain enlightenment. It is said that the
holy water given in the temple has many medicinal properties to cure many types of body pains and diseases. 

Location: Sri Pachiamman Temple is located at South Tirumullaivoyal( in between Ambattur and Avadi ), Chennai 

Main Deity: Goddess Shakti in the form of Goddesses Pachiamman.

Legend: it is said that goddess Parvati did penance here after being punished by Lord Shiva for blindfolding the creator of the universe lord Shiva.

History: 

Legend says that Lord Shiva and Parvathi lived in Kailash. Lord Shiva is the almighty, the protector of the earth, always spent the time guardian the world. Goddess Parvathi was upset by this and blindfolded Lord Shiva Playfully. This had a very adverse effect on earth, the light on earth was gone and all the living creatures in the universe were dead and frozen. The gods and goddesses in the heaven were worried that the universe could be destroyed and approached Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva opened his third eye and gave light to the world and gave heat and life to the dead. God Shiva was disappointed with the Goddess and sentenced her to take a human form and do penance until his anger reduces. Goddess came down to earth and did penance and visited places like Kashi, Kanchi, and Thiruvannamalai. On her way from Kanchi to Thiruvannamalai, goddess stayed at Thirumulaivoyal and did penance. Sapta munivargal and sapta kanniaigal guarded her here.

In the entrance towards the left is Lord Muruga(Shanmuga) along with his consorts Valli and 
Devayani, towards the right of the gate, are the statues of Lord Ganesha and Pratyangira.
Walking further towards left there is a huge peepal tree underneath it is the Nagaraja - snake gods. 
Towards the right are the statues of Goddess Durga. There are Navagraha statues, lord hanuman.
There are the statues of Lord Bhairava moorthy. There are huge statues of lord Muneshwara, 
and his other six of his brothers, who guarded the goddess. it is said that a couple who is wishing to have a child come here and seek the blessings of the lord, and the wish is fulfilled by the lord.
