Recipe for Hotel-style Pongal

Pongal is a perfect filling recipe for breakfast that is nutritious. most of us prepare Pongal but the hotel-style taste will make it yummier and the family members will enjoy it.

The quantity of the number of people



Ingredients


Uncooked Rice 2 cups
Green gram dal ¾ cup
Oil 1teaspoon
Ghee 1 teaspoon
Cashew 8-10
Curry leaves
Pepper ½ teaspoon
Jeera ½ teaspoon
Asafoetida 1 pinch
Turmeric ¼ teaspoon
Coconut slices if required
Ginger ½ inch
Coriander leaves few
Salt

Preparation:

Wash rice and green gram dal, add 1:4 water, salt, and pressure cook until 6-7 whistles





Heat oil ghee mixture in a pan and add pepper, jeera, cashews and mix




Now add asafoetida, turmeric powder, curry leaves, and ginger






Now add this to the cooked rice dal mixture and mix well



Add coriander leaves and mix well.

Serve hot with chutney/sambar or raita.
