Shiva mudra

Shiva mudra is a mudra that is helpful in relieving the illness that is slowing us down. This illness could be in the form of  fatigue due to overweight, cold related problems like common cold, pneumonia, tuberculosis, and common troubling cough. it also relieves the anxiety and stress by calming down the mind and soul and hence building your strength and energy.

Shiva mudra represents the god Shiva and the goddess Parvathi devi, A symbol of masculine and feminine together. An integration of the powers of both the powers Shiva and  Shakti.

This mudra can be performed along with Yoni mudra for extra benefits and soul energising. 

Mudra is a unique and one of the best techniques that can be used to attain any health benefit by continuous and regular practice.

Mudras are hand gestures that balance the five elements called the panchabooth (fire, earth, water, air, and space) in our body. Mudras help in balancing the three doshas in the body called the vatha, pittha, and the Kapha doshas.

How to perform this mudra:

step 1: sit comfortably in a place with your back straight.
step 2: close the right hand into a clenched fist with your thumb directed straight upwards.
step 3: keep your left hand slightly bent that resembles a bowl, now place your right hand on your left hand.
step 4: hold this mudra in front of your navel area.
step 5: concentrate on your breath and relax after some while.

Benefits of the mudra:

  • induces the heat in the body that destroys phlegm and problems of cold and cough.
  • cures problems like asthma, pneumonia and tuberclosis that generates cough.
  • removes unwanted fat from the body and makes your body fit and slim.

when and how long should the mudras be performed:


These mudras can be performed at any point of time in a day. one has to start by holding this mudra for 5 minutes and can be stretched up to 45 minutes a day.
Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water and juices for effective results.

  • people suffering from acidity and uclers should not practice this mudra.
  • stop practicing this mudra once the problem is solved
