The holy Kailash Manasarovar Yatra:

Mount Kailash is situated in the southwestern corner of Tibet. It is like a huge pyramid that stands at a height of about 22,028 feet above sea level. In Tibetan language, Mount Kailash is known as Kang Rinpoche (Precious Mountain). According to the legends, it is believed that Milarepa, the poet-yogi
was the only person to reach its peak. Mount Kailash is the most sacred pilgrimage for the Hindus, Jains, Bonpos as well as the Buddhists. As a result of which thousands of devotees from different parts of the world come to this holy place to offer their prayers. According to the Sanskrit literature, Mount Kailash is the home of Lord Shiva and Parvati, his divine spouse. The Holy Kailash Mansarovar Lake is one of the most sacred lakes to the Hindus. This holy lake flows around Kailash Parvat and is most ancient lakes of all. This lake has been mentioned in several Hindu mythologies. The Holy Mansarovar Lake is bluish-green in color and appears pretty fascinating to the eyes.




Kailash Mansarovar Lake is believed to be the source of all four holy rivers of Asia namely, Indus, Brahmaputra, Sutlej, and Karnali. According to Hindu mythology, the lake was created in Lord Brahma’s mind which later manifested on Earth. This is the reason why in Sanskrit it is called Manas Sarovara. Manas means mind and Sarovara means lake. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra can turn out to be the most thrilling and magnificent experience for the devotee. This is a journey that every Hindu should perform at least once in his lifetime.
