Rice and Pulses based Porridge Powder

Baby weaning is a critical phase when it comes to filling the nutrition in a bowl. It is very important to feed them with healthy yet easily digestible foods that also keeps them active. This food is mainly based on rice and the dals and nuts are added to enhance the taste and provide the required nutrients for a healthy development. This porridge mix can be provided for kids between the infants in the age group 6 months to 24 months. Since this is an easily digestible food it can be provided to kids and adults who are suffering from fever, cold or sore throat. This will be easy to consume and easily digestible food.

Heathy and Tasty Rice-dal kanji- Rice porridge 

Recipe:

Rice is loaded with carbohydrates that are sure to provide energy and the dals and pulses will provide the required amount of proteins and other vitamins and nutrients that is required for a healthy active day.


Rice based, nutritious ready to cook mix healthy 

Ingredients required : 

Ingredient 

Quantity 

Boiled rice 

200gm

Gram dal 

2 tablespoon 

Moong dal

2 tablespoon 

Thoor dal 

2 tablespoon 

Broken moong 

2 tablespoon 

Urad dal 

2 tablespoon 

Horse gram 

2 tablespoon 

Badam

10-15 count

Cashew nut 

10-15 count 





Take all the ingredients in a big vessel and soak it for 5-6 hours.

Now Drain the water and and dry the ingredients in direct sunlight or under a fan by spreading it on a clean cloth.

Once the ingredients are dry and crispy 

Fry the ingredient on low flame for 20 minutes until it turns aromatic  and allow it to cool down.

Grind it into fine powder and store it into airtight containers.

Now to make the porridge :

Take one or two teaspoons of the ready mix powder and mix it with a good amount of water for it to cook. For 1 teaspoon of powder one may require approximately 1 - 1.5  cups of water.

Now cook in medium low flame until it is cooked well. Allow it to cool down, add a pinch of salt or a little bit of sugar and feed your infants.

If it is for kids and adults with fever, cold or sore throat, serve the porridge with salt and pepper powder. Jeera can be added at the time of cooking or roasted jeera powder can be added  to enhance the taste and improve digestion. The warm porridge can also soothe the throat and will be tasty for the taste buds.
