Parruppu Kothhavaranga usali / cluster beans recipe is a south Indian recipe that is one of the best side dishes for rice.

ingredients required:
cluster beans 1/4 kg 
jeera  1/4 teaspoon
mustard 1/4 teaspoon
urad dal  1/2 teaspoon
onion 1 medium-sized 
Channa dal (Bengal gram) 1 cup
ginger 1 inch 
sombu(Anise) 1 teaspoon
dry chilies 1
 for masala: soak the channa dal for half an hour and grind coarsely with a 1/2 inch ginger, 1 teaspoon Anise (Sombu), and a little bit of salt.
Preparation:
Cut the cluster beans (Kothavaranga) and cook it with little salt with water. 
Heat oil in a pan add mustard, jeera, urad dal, and curry leaves.
now add onion and  saute
now, add the ground paste and mix well.
Let the mixture become dry for a while in low medium flame.
drain the excess water from the cooked cluster beans and add it.
mix well and cook for a while and garnish with coriander.
serve hot with cooked rice.
